Starting Lineup

The goalkeeper Had little to do to make before the break before forced to intervene by Arbër Hoxha’s curling effort. A sliding challenge on Qazim Laci highlighted excellent game intelligence. 6/10

Nico O’Reilly A further confident display from the rising star after his initial appearance against Serbia. Saka failed to make the opportunity from an exquisite touch behind the opposing backline. His position is his to lose at this stage. Seven

Adam Wharton His maiden beginning for his country. A bit sloppy when playing out though his dangerous corners were a threat. A useful tempo-setter available to the coach to have against defensive opponents. Cautioned for a rash challenge. 6/10

The midfielder Deliveries on corner kicks and free kicks were dangerous. Had license to roam on the left yet found himself in an offside position as the pass came in shooting positions. Awarded a merited rest around the 60-minute point. 6

The star midfielder Operated in a forward position down the right while also put in the hard yards. Displayed flashes of quality but scuffed an attempt wide. Withdrawn in the closing stages for Rogers, his competition, following a yellow card. 7/10

The winger Had England’s clearest opportunity before halftime, his effort well saved from Thomas Strakosha. With Quansah holding position, it fell to him to offer an outlet on the right although his balls into the box were hit and miss. Substituted for the final quarter-hour. 6/10

The captain The difference-maker with his seventy-seventh and seventy-eighth strikes in an England shirt. The opener a typical opportunist's goal while the second a classy headed goal having drifted away away from the opposition. At 32, his form is unwavering and England have every chance in the upcoming tournament when he's in the team. 8

Eberechi Eze Had difficulty to get into the game out wide. Had a presentable chance following a pass from a teammate yet Strakosha denied him. Rashford made much more of effect after coming on. Five
