Event Overview

Hamilton reportedly accelerated through the final chicane of Turns 16 and 17 after the practice was halted because of a accident by Racing Bulls’ Liam Lawson.

Should Hamilton be found guilty of the alleged breach, he may face a starting position penalty for the next Grand Prix.

Session Results

Verstappen finished only 0.017 seconds in front of McLaren’s Oscar Piastri, the present points leader, with less than a tenth of a second separating the first five competitors.

  • George Russell (Mercedes) – third
  • Kimi Antonelli (Mercedes) – 4th
  • Lando Norris (McLaren) – 5th

The gap separating Piastri and his teammate was only 0.072s, with Norris behind by twenty-five points in the championship with seven rounds remaining.

Additional Notable Drives

Aston Martin’s Alonso, who had displayed impressive speed in the previous sessions, had a more subdued run, concentrating mainly on long-run performance.

Alonso’s soft-tyre lap at the conclusion of the practice was ruined when Williams’ Alex Albon spun off at Turn 13, located at the end of the Anderson Bridge.
