FC Barcelona Set to Play Inaugural Fixture at Upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday

Barça revealed they will play at the still-under-construction Camp Nou on Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Bilbao team in La Liga 30 months after they moved out so building work could begin.

“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Attendance will be limited though over 45,000 attendees can be present as per the current authorization. Once fully finished, the stadium’s capacity will reach almost 105,000 spectators, increasing from the former 99,000. Officials confirmed finished work included a renovated tunnel for players along with upgraded changing facilities.

Preparatory Events

Barcelona held a fan-accessible workout on the home pitch earlier this month. The club said they are seeking authorization from Uefa to host the next European match versus the German side next month in the renovated venue. Their recent games have been held at the Olympic Stadium.
