Raducanu made it to the third stage in three Grand Slam tournaments major tournaments during the season.

Britain's Emma Raducanu has withdrawn from her final two events of the year due to a medical condition that has affected her over the past 10 days.

The 22-year-old had planned to participate in Tokyo and Hong Kong but has decided to fly home to regain her health ahead of launching her preparations for 2026.

Those preparations are set to feature coach Francisco Roig, as they will keep partnering for the upcoming season.

The tennis professional had her blood pressure taken during her first-round match with Ann Li in Wuhan and stopped playing when trailing 6-1 4-1 on a day with extreme humidity.

Another medical visit was necessary a doctor's assessment at the recent Ningbo Open, where she was defeated in three sets to local wildcard Zhu Lin in the first round.

She was also playing noticeably restricted in the deciding set versus Zhu owing to the lower back problem that has been a concern at times this year.

These outcomes meant an encouraging season, in which the player advanced into the top 30 globally after more than three years for the first time since 2022, concluded with three straight losses.

Raducanu had three match points before losing to Pegula in the third round in last month's Beijing event.

The player achieved 28 victories during 2025 and reached the semi-finals in the Washington tournament, but the highlight of her season was at the Miami Open in March.

As Britain's top player made the last eight of a premier WTA event, overcoming Emma Navarro, the eighth seed during the tournament then falling in three sets to fourth-ranked Pegula.

She was coached by Mark Petchey as coach from Miami until Wimbledon, with Francisco Roig stepping in for the US Open.

The first plan with the ex-coach of Rafael Nadal was through the season's conclusion but the partnership will continue, with a training block pencilled in for the end of the year.

Raducanu told that a three-day test period alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as the meeting was kept under wraps.

She came very close to defeating top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka at their initial event as a team in Cincinnati during August.

The coach also accompanied Raducanu in New York, where she reached the third round before being beaten by 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina.
