Amanda Anisimova extended her outstanding season by reaching the final of the Beijing competition, overpowering defending champion Coco Gauff with a dominant 6-1, 6-2 victory in the semi-finals.

Ranked third in Beijing, the 24-year-old now boasts a two-to-one edge in her career meetings against Gauff.

The third seed stormed her way to a 5-0 lead in the first set before the second seed got on the board to make it five-one. The second set unfolded in a comparable manner, with the American building a commanding five-game lead. Although her opponent fought back to win the next two games, Anisimova clinched the win in just 58 minutes.
